14 I answered, “Sir, you know.”And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.15 Therefore,
“they are before the throne of God
and serve him day and night in his temple;
and he who sits on the throne
will shelter them with his presence.
16 ‘Never again will they hunger;
never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat down on them,’
nor any scorching heat.
17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne
will be their shepherd;
‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’
‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.'” Revelation 7:14-17
This is an Essential 100 day 97 blog post that I thought the scripture was appropriate to talk about big serve day that our church took part in to love on the city of Memphis, TN. I want my focus on verse 14 where the saints will serve the Lord day and night in His temple. The day we get saved is the day eternal life starts for us. It’s a big process that will last until the end of our earthly lives. One of the aspects of eternity is serving the Lord. The best way we can do that is by serving others and loving on others. With our 400 volunteers that is exactly what we did. We brought hope and light to some people that are not in the best of situations. We had games for them, we gave away big prizes, and most important we had some major food for them because the area we served in, the kids are starving. It was so awesome to see the look of thankfulness and gratitude for us as we just loved on them and served them. What so awesome about this is you are taking the focus off of yourself and putting on others. In the last verse it talking about living waters. We experience that when we realize God’s love for us. When that happens we have to pass on that love in serving others. It’s a cycle that repeats itself, but the wonderful part is whatever you may be facing the very healing you are needing may be helping others. So, today is the day of salvation, today is the day that eternity starts; lets serve the Lord by serving others.
