31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Romans 8:31-33
This by far is one of my favorite passages of scripture written by super apostle Paul. When he was in prison before his death Paul spent time writing these awesome letters to the early church and Romans was one of them. This whole chapter describes and contrasts life in the spirit and life in the flesh. Many believe you can say you’re saved if you believe in Christ and do nothing else. You can live like Jesus on Sunday and act like the devil the rest of the week. That is a lie by the devil. The abundant life Jesus talks about is one in which it takes hard work and sacrifice and service to our fellow man. If we make Jesus Lord of our lives we can live like children of the light and we will be following what the Holy Spirit wants us to do in our life path. It takes us making the steps to live our life like Christ and then when we have the self-control we will get closer to God. Our lives will be transformed and we will have the favor of God. Favor is not automatic, it will always cost something. As these verses talk about we will have this awesome favor of God when we do the little things to allow God’s favor to be a part of our lives. So, if God is for us, who can be against us. NO ONE!! NOTHING!!
