The Essential 100 Day 45: Proverbs 16,17 and 18: Life Giving

24 Gracious words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:24

17 A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for a time of adversity. Proverbs 17:17

21 The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.  Proverbs 18:21

Not too long ago I wrote a blog on being a life-giver.  God wants us to be life-givers.  The best instrument to use is your tongue.  As these three verses I picked out indicate there is life or death that comes from the tongue.  A friend loves at all times and uses gracious words to up lift and to give strength to their friends and people around them.  Gracious words can heal bones, heal broken hearts and just plain change someone’s bleak outlook on life.  The Christ in me wants to be positive in everything I say to people.  Loving words can not only make someone’s day, but they can make your day as well.  The bible says to encourage yourself, the best way to do that is to encourage someone else and make them feel special.  We need to live each day as if it’s Valentines day, and say a kind word to someone you don’t  know, smile, do something positive for someone.  I think the best way to share God with someone is to do as Jesus did, just love on people.
