3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man. Proverbs 3:3-4
Out of this long reading, I found this treasure of these two verses. It kind of makes me think about that old saying that you get more bees with honey. Being faithful to God and to other people is a very important thing we do in our relationships. We need to stick by our friends when they are down, we need to comfort and encourage. The only way we do that is by the action of love. The more you love, the easier it becomes to make that choice. Love is not a feeling as all the love songs out there indicate. It’s a choice we make everyday to do. If we get into the habit of hanging it around our necks as this Proverb says to do, we open up other peoples hearts. Faithfulness and love go hand in hand. It takes courage to love people the way God loves us. We open ourselves up to hurt and pain, but the rewards are so awesome. We will find favor and a good name in the sight of, most importantly God, then man.
