The Essential 100 Day 28: Judges 6 and 7: The Eternal Guide

34 Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Gideon, and he blew a trumpet, summoning the Abiezrites to follow him. Judges 6:34

I want to focus on this one verse in this section on the story of Gideon.  After he tore down the Baal God that Israel had put up he was filled with the Holy Spirit.  The Baal was what was holding Israel from becoming free from its oppression.  Gideon was fearful of doing this, so he did it at night.  I find it interesting that when you are doing God’s will for your life how we can be so fearful and afraid, when God is in complete control of the situation.  Once we take a step toward obedience, God provides us with even more support from the Holy Spirit.  He guides us using the Holy Spirit.  When we take that first step toward salvation we get the Holy Spirit.  When we are praying and reading the Bible we get more direction from the Holy Spirit.  When we let go of people or habits that are leaving us firmly anchored in the past, we get comfort from the Holy Spirit.  It’s comforting to know we have a piece of God with us all the time when dealing with life in general.  Always know, that the eternal guide is always with us  and there to lead us into our next victory.
