6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs. Exodus 12:6-7
Todays reading was on the Passover and the feast of unleavened bread. I want to focus on the Passover. God made a law that had to be done to purify the Israelites before His eyes. They had to slaughter goats and put the blood on their doors to prevent the judgement that was about to fall on Egypt. Israel was God’s chosen people, just as today we are His chosen people. We are very much like Israel in so many ways, our unbelief, our stubbornness and sinfulness. I am so grateful that we all have Passover everyday because of the slaughter of Jesus on the cross. His sacrifice saves us all from the death angel coming upon us. Those who are not in Christ are blessed for right now, God is just waiting on them to make the choice for Him. God has chosen everyone by allowing Christ to die for everyone, it’s now up to you to make the choice for God and Christ. Don’t let another day pass you by without turning to Jesus. Because the day will come when you are faced with eternity and you don’t want the death angel to stop at your house.
