The Essential 100 Day 3: Genesis 6:5-22 and 7

15 They came to Noah and to the ship in pairs-everything and anything that had the breath of life in it,16 male and female of every creature came just as God had commanded Noah. Then God shut the door behind him. Gen. 7:16-15

During my reading this morning God pointed out to me that He shut the door to the ark for Noah.  I never saw that before in all the times I have read this story.  The door if you read in verse 16 of chapter 6 shows you how massive it was.  It was three decks high.  There was no way Noah was going to get that door shut on his own and with his sons.  God was going to have to close the door for Him.  If you think about it this is how God works.  We have to do our part in our obedience and then God comes and does something massive in our lives, like shut the door to the ark to keep it afloat.  When we take steps toward righteous behavior we find God moving in our lives and giving us momentum.  No matter how crazy God’s idea might seem to us, we need to follow the plan because He is going to move something massive in our lives, like a three deck high door.
